It is with much regret that we report the death of William H. Durran (1955), who passed away peacefully on Friday 12th July 2024.

William's funeral will be held at Loretto Chapel at midday on Monday 29th July and all friends, OLs and former colleagues are welcome to attend.

Following a rigorous application process, the School is delighted to announce that Harry L and Imogen C are Loretto's new Heads of School for the academic year 2024-25.

We're incredibly grateful to OLs Maria Oniscu (2017) and Finn Dobson (2015) for visiting Loretto to speak with pupils as part of Futures Week 2024. Futures Week aims to support and inspire Lower Sixth pupils as they approach their final year at Loretto, and start thinking about life beyond the School. Much work is done to get ahead on UCAS applications and personal statements, but pupils are also encouraged to think about alternative career pathways and options.

Okay, we didn’t manage to win the Halford Hewitt for a record fourth successive time. But you can’t keep Loretto golf out of the news for long, as our Ladies team — at the first time of trying — won The Silver Tassie!

You may be interested to know that the School is introducing a new House structure in August 2024. The aim of this new structure is to better integrate boarding and day students; in tandem with more effective use of spaces on our campus.

Our annual OLs vs 1st XI Cricket match was another hugely enjoyable day and we're delighted to say that, this time, the OLs came out on top!

It was fantastic to welcome a group of OL Ladies to Loretto last Sunday for an exciting OLs vs 1st XI Hockey match. Both teams played to a high standard, which was reflected in the final score of 4-4.
