On Thursday 15th January 2026, the Loretto School Pipe Band delighted audiences with a showcase of exceptional solo piping in their annual internal competition.

Competitors performed a wide range of tunes, from 2/4 and 6/8 marches to slow airs, Strathspeys, reels and jigs, demonstrating impressive skill and dedication.

After careful deliberation by the external adjudicator, the winners were announced:

Senior Section Winner: Anna - receiving the Michael Mavor Piping Trophy
Junior Section Winner: Francesco - receiving the James Pryde Junior Piping Trophy
