Hong Kong Drinks
Wednesday 26th March 2025

During my trip to Hong Kong, I was delighted to meet a number of OLs.

There is a warmth and a work ethic to the people of Hong Kong which aligns with Loretto - it is no surprise that so many Hong Kongese have had such a positive experience at, and impact on, Loretto over the years.

The OLs I met spanned a broad range of ages and talents, covering Loretto from the 1970s to the present day. It was wonderful to reminisce, share stories across the generations, and hear what each of them has been up to since launching themselves into the world from Loretto.

The wide variety of careers is testament to the foundations for success provided by a Loretto education - the Mind, Body, Spirit ethos in action.

It was also heartwarming to feel the strong attachment that OLs continue to have for Loretto as we approach our Bicentenary. Everyone was passionate about the ongoing success of the school and keen to see it thrive for the next 200 years and beyond.

We are very much a family - once a Lorettonian, always a Lorettonian - and it was a joy to meet the Hong Kong branch of the family.

My thanks to Alex Johnston (1987) and Steve Tait (1991) for their support in hosting this gathering, and I am already looking forward to the next trip!
