We are delighted to share that, at time of writing, the School's Lower Sixth FetLor Fudraising Committee has raised an incredible
£5,880 (inc. Gift Aid) for FetLor Youth Club!
The majority of this total was raised through their epic
100km for 100 years of FetLor sponsored challenge. On Sports Day, a group of pupils collectively ran 100 kilometers - some even three-legged! - to raise funds for the club in their centenary year.
They also held a bake sale and operated a face painting stall, and we are very grateful to Friends of Loretto for their help and support with both of these.
Richie Adams, Chief Executive of FLYC, attended the day to speak with and support the group. He offered his heartfelt thanks for their efforts and explained exactly how their fundraising will benefit the young people of North Edinburgh. The club is currently fundraising for a minibus to offer even more opportunities to their users, and also for their annual summer activity week. This sees some of the young people they support enjoy a residential adventure week and, for many of those who attend, it is their first time travelling outside of Edinburgh. We are delighted that the funds raised by Loretto will be used to support both of these endeavours.
Throughout this fundraising project, we have to say, our pupils have been tremendous. From writing emails to OLs and parents, filming and producing marketing content, speaking in front of the whole School at Double and all of their efforts on Sports Day, we are very proud of their dedication, talents and enthusiasm.
