It’s always great to welcome to OLs back to Loretto, and we’re extremely grateful to Debora Krut (2018) for visiting on Tuesday to talk with Fourth Form pupils as part of their Health and Wellbeing week.
Debora spoke candidly about receiving a cancer diagnosis shortly after starting at Oxford University, and how this led to her writing her first play based on her treatment. The play was performed in both Oxford and at the Edinburgh Fringe, and it was fascinating to hear how the writing process helped Debora control her own narrative. She also spoke warmly about her time Loretto, and enjoyed catching up with former teachers including Mrs Helen Day (Hon.) and Mr James Burnet (Hon.).
Thank you again for speaking, Debora – it was our pleasure to welcome you back, and you were a real inspiration to pupils.
