Isla Young (2024) is a student at the University of Glasgow and, this June, she and a group of fellow students will be climbing Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.
Standing at over 4000m, climbing mount Toubkal will be an incredibly punishing challenge.
Speaking of the climb, Isla says, ‘This is easily the hardest thing I have ever attempted. However, by pushing myself to my limit, it is my hope to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. The goal of this foundation is to defeat meningitis and septicemia by 2030, and I am proud to be a small part of that. Students such as myself are at a high risk of getting meningitis, so it's imperative that we do everything we can to prevent it.’
