The Mirror of Great Britain is a major reassessment of one of Britain's most strange and fascinating kings: James I of England and VI of Scotland. Closely attentive to James's own words - in numerous publications, manuscript musings, topical verse and private correspondence - Clare's wonderful new book tells the story of this highly unusual monarch with great flair and insight.
Her publishers, Topping Books, have organised a book event at Pilrig St. Paul's in Edinburgh, for which tickets can be purchased
here. Topping Books have also very kindly offered OLs the option of booking reduced-price Scholar tickets (£5 each).
We know many OLs have a strong interest in British History and it would be wonderful to see the OL community support Clare at this event!
