Hockey Plate Success
Monday 17th March 2025

The 1st XI Hockey team secured a dramatic victory in the Scottish Plate final against High School of Dundee, on Friday 15th March at Glasgow Green.

Despite a slow start that saw us fall 2-0 behind, we responded with a well-executed short corner from Felix S (U6), reducing the deficit to 2-1 at half-time.

After the break, Dundee extended their lead, but the team fought back with a well-worked goal finished by Max S (F5). With eight minutes remaining, Dundee struck again to make it 4-2. However, Archie M (F5) quickly responded, bringing the team within one goal. In the final moments, a crucial short corner was converted by Felix, forcing the game into running penalties.

In the shootout, the team held their composure, scoring four out of five penalties. Rory L (U6) netted the decisive penalty, while goalkeeper Ollie S (U6) produced some outstanding saves to secure a 4-3 victory.

A huge thank you goes to the Red Wall for their incredible support, which played a vital role in the team's success. Special appreciation is also extended to Mr Kerr and Mr Jack for their dedication and guidance throughout the season.

Congratulations to the 1st XI on a fantastic achievement!

Harry L (U6)
1st XI Hockey Captain
