This year saw the return of Loretto’s newest tradition, the March Hare cross-country event. Pupils, staff and families from both the Senior and Junior School took on the 3km course, including a short stretch on the beach, before finishing at Newfield.
The day began with a fun run, with many members of the school sporting face paint and trying not to eat too much from the bake sale pre-event. The competitive race followed, with over 70 runners pushing themselves, spurred along by the community. And what could be a more fitting tribute to Loretto's values than the first three - Finlay M (U6), Ollie L (U6) and Howie A (F5) - joining hands and crossing the line together to be joint winners?
More than just a race, the March Hare is already a popular fixture of the school calendar. It’s a chance for whole school to come together, whether running, watching or simply enjoying the cakes. It’s no overstatement to say that events such as these serve as a quiet reminder of Loretto’s enduring spirit.
