The third and final test between the Wallabies and the British & Irish Lions in August 2025 presented an opportunity for OLs to gather in advance of the match at a function organised by a group called ‘Edinburgh Schools in Sydney’. This event on Friday 1st August 2025 welcomed alumni from George Watson’s, Portobello High School, James Gillespie’s High School, George Heriot’s and ESMS.

As it turned out, Loretto provided the majority of those in attendance — group photo taken as proof! (Please note the red and white Loretto scarf I purchased during a recent visit to the school, potentially the furthest an item has travelled from the uniform shop?)

It was a good night, enjoyed by all, although I was forced to reflect on the fact that I left Loretto well before any of the attending OLs were born!

Thanks to all who joined us on the evening for their enthusiasm and support, and we hope to repeat similar gatherings in future.
