Robert Stewart Wilson (1942-47) who died in 2004 (exact date unkown please contact Lorettonian Society if you know the date) in North Carolina was a prefect and in the XV and the hockey and athletics teams. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh, moved to the U.S.A. and worked as a wine merchant becoming a director of The House of Burgundy Inc, wine importers and national distributors, in New York. His wife Joan died last year.

Robert Leonard Fulton Fife (1943-46) died on 29th September, 2006. His early working life, following National Service in the Royal Air Force, was as Manager of the seed potato department in the family firm Dobbie & Co in Edinburgh. He was a successful gent for a number of companies in Scotland during the 1980s and this was followed by about 10 years in Majorca owning and running a large restaurant. Douglas Manifold McKenzie (1943-46) died on 7th September, 2011. After Loretto he attended Bradford Technical College then went into his family’s knitwear business, Kidmar, in Bridgeton, Glasgow. Charles Robert Colman (1938-48) (twin brother of next entry), who died on 2nd February, 2013, was a prefect and in the XV. He went on to Jesus College, Cambridge, and later moved to Canada after becoming one of 5 people who were invited by Brendan Brackan to join mail-order company, Simpson-Sears. Dr Daniel Michael Howard Jones (1943-47) graduated MB, BS, from the University of Durham, where he was in the cross country team and a member of the caving club. At this time he helped pioneer the deepest exploration of Fairy Hole Caves, Ludwell, Tyneside. Specialising in psychiatry, he trained in Harrogate and Derby and was a Registrar at Wallingham Park Hospital in Surrey. Ronald Hogarth McLaren (1939-48), who died on 20th January, 2013, was in the XV, and Hockey XI and was Captain of Athletics. He worked in sales with Rank Xerox before moving into Yacht Charters on the West Coast as owner of Tarka Mhor Charters from 1985-2005. He was Chairman of Associated Scottish Yacht Charters. He is survived by his daughter Diana.

Charles Joseph Findlay Dykes (1943-47) died very suddenly on 24th August, 2004. He gained a First in Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow University, where he was in the swimming and water-polo teams.
