Welcome to Jack Kelly

As ratified at The Lorettonian Society's annual Central Committee Meeting on 7 May 2026, we are delighted to welcome Andrew J. (Jack) Kelly (1982) as the new Chair of The Lorettonian Society, succeeding Colin B. Davidson (1983). Initially recruited to the Executive Committee in 2025 following his retirement from Deloitte, Jack steps into the role of Chair with a wealth of OL connections, and a desire to keep improving engagement at events and good relations with Loretto School.

Jack could most accurately be described as an OL 'influencer', having orchestrated many informal gatherings and OL catch ups over the years, in addition to relentlessly encouraging attendance at official OL events.

We are thrilled to have Jack at the helm of the Society for Loretto's 200th anniversary celebrations next year and he is, as always, delighted to hear from any OLs who wish to reconnect with the Society.

Thank you and goodbye to Colin Davidson

It is with immense gratitude that we bid farewell to Colin B. Davidson (1983) as Chair of The Lorettonian Society and a Governor of Loretto School, after a hugely impactful five-year tenure. Colin was initially recruited to the Society's Executive Committee as Honorary Treasurer in 2019. Following his retirement from Middle Temple after 33 years with the Inn, he accepted the role of Chair in 2021 and sought to bring the Society into the 21st century by implementing a brand-new online accounting system and external audit process. He was also instrumental in steering and rebuilding the Society after the unavoidable-yet-significant impact of Covid.

Formal drinks receptions pivoted to casual drinks in sociable bars, helping to engage younger OLs, and general attendance at all OL events continues to increase following venue changes and improved marketing and communication. Colin was also responsible for a much-needed review and update of the Society's Constitution, and has worked tirelessly over the last few years to strengthen the Society's relationship with both Loretto School and the Old Lorettonian Golfing Society.

All at the School and Society thank Colin for his time, expertise, dedication, attention to detail, diplomacy and, of course, his inimitable sense of humour over his five years in the post. We are also pleased to share that Colin is not completely stepping away as, from Autumn 2026, he will become the new Chair of The Loretto Foundation, succeeding Charles (Charlie) R. M. Johnston (1989).
