Q1. What ignited your passion for hockey?
“I have to credit this one to my mum. She introduced me to hockey at a young age and my passion has continued ever since. It’s great that I can not only continue to play at a high level, but also develop others through the coaching side of the game, hopefully inspiring and igniting a passion in younger players too.”
Q2. To what extent have you been involved with Scottish Hockey?“To date, I have been involved with Scotland U16 boys, U18 boys and U21 men throughout my playing career. I have played in numerous tournaments including an U18 Great Britain & Ireland Four Nations, where we placed 1st, and an U21 B-Division European tournament, where we placed 2nd.
On the coaching side of things, I have been involved with coaching regional BRAVE sessions and assisting with the U18 Aspiring Scotland Girls' squad.”
Q3. What’s been the biggest success of your career so far?“My biggest success to date would be a recent silver medal in the European B-Division this past summer, which was hosted in Switzerland. It was a fantastic experience where we played countries including Switzerland, Wales, Finland and the Czech Republic.”
Q4. What’s your favourite memory from being at Loretto?“This one’s a bit of a no-brainer! My favourite memory would be lifting the Senior Scottish Schools Cup in 2020 while in U6 (pic
tured below). What makes this memory even more special, is that it was the last competitive game of hockey played in Scotland before COVID.”
