We are delighted to share that, on Wednesday 4th September 2024, two OLs - William 'Bill' Frain-Bell (1989) and Craig Murray (1994) - were appointed by HM The King to the rank of one of his Majesty's Counsel in Scotland.

It has been wonderful to welcome Fiona Goss (2018) back to Loretto, as the School’s newest Artist in Residence.

For our latest OL Spotlight we're delighted to feature hockey player and coach, Charlie Jack (2020) - who also happens to be the newest member of Loretto School's wonderful Sports Department!

Following on from his success earlier this year in the Men’s Under-18 Six Nations Festival in Italy, Christian Lindsay (U6) had a productive summer training with the Scotland Under-18 rugby squad in Dublin.

Christian also featured in a full, back-page profile piece in Musselburgh’s local newspaper, the East Lothian Courier.

We are delighted to share the success of this year's A Level and GCSE pupils, with 100% of Loretto's A Level pupils securing a further education destination of their choice.

It is with much regret that we report the death of William H. Durran (1955), who passed away peacefully on Friday 12th July 2024.

William's funeral will be held at Loretto Chapel at midday on Monday 29th July and all friends, OLs and former colleagues are welcome to attend.

We're incredibly grateful to OLs Maria Oniscu (2017) and Finn Dobson (2015) for visiting Loretto to speak with pupils as part of Futures Week 2024. Futures Week aims to support and inspire Lower Sixth pupils as they approach their final year at Loretto, and start thinking about life beyond the School. Much work is done to get ahead on UCAS applications and personal statements, but pupils are also encouraged to think about alternative career pathways and options.
